An annual essential for me.

I've used this for years to track the void-of-course moon. You don't want to start anything new during the VOC moon, and purchases made during that time rarely work out for you as planned. The VOC happens for a few minutes to seveeral hours between when the moon makes its last major contact with another planet until it goes into the next sign. During this time it's best to just hang loose, kick back and take things easy.

And of course, it's excellent for looking up other astrological goings-on -- the phase of the moon, new moon, retrogrades, etc., etc. Nice little day planner format too.

About the Author

Michael R. Solomon

MICHAEL R. SOLOMON, Ph.D., joined the Haub School of Business at Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia as Professor of Marketing in 2006, where he also serves as Director of the Center for Consumer Research. From 2007 to 2013 he also held an appointment as Professor of Consumer Behaviour at The University of Manchester in the U.K. From 1995 to 2006, he was the Human Sciences Professor of Consumer Behavior at Auburn University. Prior to joining Auburn in 1995, he was Chairman of the Department of Marketing in the School of Business at Rutgers University, New Brunswick, New Jersey. Professor Solomon’s primary research interests include consumer behavior and lifestyle issues~ branding strategy~ the symbolic aspects of products~ the psychology of fashion, decoration, and image~ services marketing~ and the development of visually oriented online research methodologies. He currently sits on the editorial boards of the Journal of Consumer Behaviour, the European Business Review, and the Journal of Retailing, and he recently completed a six yearterm on theBoard of Governors of the Academy of Marketing Science. In addition to other books, he is also the author of Prentice Hall’s text Consumer Behavior Buying, Having, and Being, which is widely used in universities throughout the world. Professor Solomon frequently appears on television and radio shows such as The Today Show, Good Morning America, Channel One, the Wall Street Journal Radio Network, and National Public Radio to comment on consumer behavior and marketing issues.

Greg W. Marshall

GREG W. MARSHALL, Ph.D., is the Charles Harwood Professor of Marketing and Strategy in the Crummer Graduate School of Business at Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida and is also Academic Director of the Executive DBA program there. For three years he also served as Vice President for Strategic Marketing for Rollins. Before joining Rollins, he was on the faculty of Oklahoma State University, the University of South Florida, and Texas Christian University. He also holds a visiting professorship in the Marketing Group at Aston Business School, Birmingham, UK. Professor Marshall earned a BSBA in Marketing and an MBA from the University of Tulsa, and a Ph.D. in Marketing from Oklahoma State University. His research interests include sales management, marketing management decision making, and intraorganizational relationships. He is editor of the Journal of Marketing Theory and Practice and former editor of the Journal of Personal Selling & Sales Management and currently serves on the editorial boards of the Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, Journal of Business Research, and Industrial Marketing Management. Professor Marshall is Past President of the American Marketing Association Academic Division, a Distinguished Fellow and Past President of the Academy of Marketing Science, and a Fellow and Past President of the Society for Marketing Advances. His industry experience prior to entering academe includes product management, field sales management, and retail management positions with firms such as WarnerLambert, the Mennen Company, and Target Corporation.

Elnora W. Stuart

ELNORA W. STUART, Ph.D., is Professor of Marketing and Associate Dean of the George Dean Johnson, Jr. College of Business and Economics at the University of South Carolina Upstate. Prior to joining USC Upstate in 2008, she was Professor of Marketing and the BP Egypt Oil Professor of Management Studies at the American University in Cairo, Professor of Marketing at Winthrop University in Rock Hill, South Carolina, and on the faculty of the University of South Carolina. She has also been a regular visiting professor at Instituto de Empresa in Madrid, Spain. She earned a BA in Theatre/Speech from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and both a Master of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication, and a Ph.D. in Marketing from the University of South Carolina. Professor Stuart’s research has been published in major academic journals including the Journal of Consumer Research, Journal of Advertising, Journal of Business Research, and Journal of Public Policy and Marketing. For over 25 years she has served as a consultant for numerous businesses and not for profit organizations in the United States and in Egypt.

An excellent Intro to Marketing Text

This text gives a great overview of the many aspects of marketing. The text explains all aspects in great theoretical detail with an abundance of real world examples to clearify each point. The text is up to date and the real people, real decisions stories are quite interesting and fitting to the subject of their respective chapters.
The book was easy to read and all important points are highlighted and defined in the page margins.
The study guide which comes with the text helps students remember the key points of each chapters by providing a brief summary of the chapter followed by a number questions of all different types.
This is the second administration text book that I have bought from Pearson Education and I would recommend this book for anyone who is taking or planning on taking an introduction to marketing course at the University or College level or even for those who just wish to know more about the topic of marketing.

Big Savings over U.S. version

I saved big by buying an used International version of this textbook. The printed quality of some of the pages was a little blurry, but otherwise the book was in very good condition.

The product was accurately described and shipping was super-fast. I placed the order on the 5th and had the book 3 business days later. I couldn't be happier!

The following note is not part of the review, it is just to inform people who are interested in buying this INTERNATIONAL VERSION:

Other sellers & sites describe this version as being identical to the U.S. version, except for the front cover. That's not entirely true. The international version is 22 pages off. For example, page 50 of the U.S. version would be page 72 of the international version.

Best Textbook I Have Had. Ever.

I got this for my online Marketing Class. The book is very easy to read, and it's even easier to find most concepts for quick reference during papers and quizzes. It's got a great breadth to it, and the writer must have been open-minded since it includes a lot of what I would think of as niche examples of things (Kevin Smith, greetings in Japanese stores, etc). It's a fun book as far as textbooks go.

A treasure for technical and functional users

This book is a treasure for anyone who needs to get quickly up-to-speed on the PeopleSoft HRMS data architecture and the most common tables against which queries and reports are executed. This alone would make the book invaluable because of the confusing PeopleSoft documentation and the thousands of tables. However, the author goes well beyond by breaking down the most important tables, grouped by function, into attributes and explaining how to create highly useful business reports from them.
In addition to the thorough coverage of the data architecture, the book also provides an excellent compendium of information and tips for using SQR to its fullest potential. Although my main interest is in the tables, I considered material on SQR to be a bonus and learned a great deal from this section.
If you are working with PeopleSoft on either the technical or functional side this book will probably be your most used reference. The author deserves the highest accolades for clear writing, technical knowledge and the ability to distill the essentials into one of the best references and tutorials I've read in a long time.

Excellent Reference - Needs Updating

As of the time of this review, the book is over 12 years old and was written when PeopleSoft version 8.0 was released. My organization is still on PeopleTools version 8.49 and I've found it to be an invaluable resource for querying and reporting in PS HRMS. The payroll data structure is quite confusing, and the key structures and relationships between the various tables is difficult to figure out without a resource such as this book.

There are good introductory overviews of the development tools that came with 8.0, but no info on XML Publisher. This is a great resource for older versions of PeopleSoft, but is in need of a revision with more current information.

Not for a Newbie

I applied for a job that uses Peoplesoft. I knew nothing about it so I bought this book. I still know nothing about it. I had hoped this book would be user friendly and explain what it was and the basics of how to use it. I have used many types of software and databases. This book made no sense to me. I am still waiting to hear on the job and I still want a user friendly book to explain the basic how to's of using Peoplesoft. If anyone has any suggestions, please post them. Thank you.

About the Author
David Geltner is a professor at MIT where he is also Director of the Real Estate Center. He received his Ph.D. in 1989 from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and was a Professor of Real Estate at the University of Cincinnati from 1989 through Spring, 2002. He specializes in the areas of real estate investments, urban economics, and the financial economics of the real estate industry. He has published extensively in leading academic journals, including Real Estate Economics (formerly The AREUEA Journal), The Journal of Urban Economics, The Journal of Real Estate Finance and Economics, The Journal of Real Estate Research, The Journal of Housing Economics, and The Journal of Property Research, among others. He serves on the editorial boards of the three leading US academic real estate journals (Real Estate Economics, The Journal of Real Estate Finance and Economics, and The Journal of Real Estate Research) and of the leading British journal (The Journal of Property Research). He is a co-managing editor of a leading real estate research journal, Real Estate Economics for AREUEA. He serves on the Academic Advisory Board of the Real Estate Research Institute, a research promotion and funding agency sponsored by the leading real estate investment firms. The Best Real Estate Text I've Ever Read

This book is not for the faint-hearted or for readers who want to skim a few paragraphs and then think they'll get rich quick.
If you read this book, chapter by chapter, and do the exercises at the end of each one, you'll probably know more about Real Estate Finance than many people in Real Estate boardrooms. This will take a few weeks as a minimum, but it will have immense value.
The writers Geltner and Miller really choose to go "in-depth" with each topic, almost to the point of annoyance when you're reading it, but afterwards you realize why, and importantly, realize what you've learned by doing it.
This book is immensely valuable, and requires some work to achieve that value. It's value will be with you permanently however, because you will have absorbed the true principals of what's going on it real estate and the associated financial markets, and not just have memorized some glib cookbook answers which many people may instead be hoping for.
This is a book for thinkers and practicioners who want carry lasting value with them.

Katherine Havener is a natural and attachment parenting advocate, attorney, and mother to three beautiful girls. A lovely and thoughtful read for co-sleeping families wishing to nightwean!

I am currently 3 months pregnant with my second baby, and still nursing my 2 1/2 year toddler. However, nursing through pregnancy, specifically at night, was becoming increasingly painful and difficult. It was time for the 24 hour all-you-can-eat snack bar to come to a close! Well, we are on night FIVE... My 2 1/2 year old is now night weaned and SLEEPING THROUGH 11+ hours!!! This book has been a glorious accompaniment to our gentle night weaning plan, and is my daughter's current favorite read! Now, I am only waking once a night to pee and to snack (thank you, baby en utero), but hey, at least it is no longer 4 times a night to twilight feed my toddler! THANK YOU! :)

Beautiful book!

Where do I even begin to write about what a beautiful book this is? First of all, I love that it is a breastfeeding book for children. If you have ever tried to find a children's breastfeeding book, there aren't that many choices. Secondly, it is written simply, yet eloquently. Katherine uses simple phrases and words that your child will understand. Night weaning can be a difficult process and this book puts the process into words a child can understand. Third, it is written from a loving perspective. No talk of crying or any being left alone. And finally, the illustrations are stunning. They are wall-worthy! The last photo will bring tears to your eyes. Oh, I also like that the child is not gender specific, so you don't have to worry that it is for a boy or girl, it is for all children.

Overall, a must have book for any family with breastfeeding children!

I agree with the others that this is a really nice book, but "Daddy" does figure prominently in it so if you don't bed share with your partner this will be confusing (it was for us cause we don't bed share with Daddy). My child liked "milkies in the morning" the best of all the books we tried.

nice analysis of travel websites

Mills provides a set of research papers about the travel websites that have sprung up on the Internet. This area has turned into a booming field. People are spending large sums to book via those websites - for planes, hotels, cars, and holidays in general.

So the book provides a good backdrop to those events. The papers' authors analyse various aspects of the websites, and how consumer behaviour might favour some over others. If you are working at one of these websites, you might well want to get a copy of this book. Some wisdom might be gleaned here. Perhaps by your competitors, if not by you.

This book is an outdated compilation of e-commerce JOURNAL articles related to the travel industry (circa 2002).

Some of the articles may have once been useful, while others are poor studies by graduate students that have little relevence.

I'm not sure how this book constitutes a "handbook". It has no direction, guidance or thesis.

These paranormals are not helpless!

Well if you are the sort who enjoys an almost X Men situation then this series might interest you. A world were those who are outed as paranormals are hunted down , imprisoned and studied but you just know that corruption and prejudice means there's cruelty often in play.
So this the second book features Cindys friend Jamie, a young man with what I could describe as an electric touch! Slight problem though as his feelings got the better of him when Cindy was recently captured and now he's being hunted! Oh and did I mention it's his ex lover Ethan after him? Yes it's fair to say that Jamie may have felt more than a spark of something for Ethan but right now they are both in a highly charged and dangerous situation !
I much preferred this to the first book even though I'm not someone who normally reads M/M romance stories. I particularly enjoyed seeing the world here extended as more is revealed about the Hunters and the unfortunate paranormals on their radar. What ramped up the tension for this reader was realising that Ethan has not one paranormal problem to deal with but two! No spoilers but the next book should be pretty interesting indeed. Just one thing to add really and that's the fact that evil and hatred begets the same sometimes and with amazing and scary abilities these paranormals are not helpless!

entertaining

This novel is well and vividly written. The pages are fraught with suspense from the very beginning. The action intensive plot kept the story moving forward at a brisk pace. Rosko’s writing is simultaneously fun and hot. Her vibrant descriptions bring everything to life, while the action and heat of the story kept me glued to the pages. This novel picks up right where the last novel left off, yet could still easily be read as a standalone. It’s the perfect merger.

Rosko fills her novel with unique paranormals, both good and bad. I enjoy the way that she develops their various powers. At the same time, I would like to have known more about the division between humans and paranormals. Rosko alludes to it, yet never comes out and spells it out for readers.

The main characters in this novel are a pair of star cross lovers that I desperately WANTED to see succeed. Both were such nice people, who really cared more about each other than themselves. The real caring, along with the electric chemistry between them has earned them a place in my heart.

I also enjoyed how Rosko ends this novel with a lead up to the sequel, while also giving a sense of completion to the story at hand. I am still dying to read the next novel, yet content with the knowledge that the current leading couple are on their way to a HEA.

Loved this book and I normally don't like M/M

I read this book as part of a box set and here I am cutting and pasting my review for each individual book. This is my review of Dangerous Creatures box set, all 3 books plus a bonus novella in the Dangerous Creatures Series. I got this series set free in exchange for an honest review. This is one of the books listed in the box set. Be warned though you will not want to stop with just one book and you will want to know the whole story from start to beginning and will want to read all of them right after each other, in fact that is what I did. Despite the length it does move at a good pace and keeps you interested. I love books like this and I love it even more when they come in a nice box set. This is a good series from a good author and I suggest you try it.

2- A Shock To Your System - This is the story of Jamie who is a person who is able to steal power and accidently does it when he finds out his friend is missing. This causes a hunter to notice him and come after him and Jamie is shocked to find out that the person he is dating, Ethan, is a hunter. Unwilling to turn him in Ethan and Jamie both have to go on the run but this is not the end to the story, there is also the issue of Jamie's missing sister.

It's very sweet.

I didn't expect much from it but when I read it it had a very good storyline. Though I find the main heroine very with little self confident it made it very sweet that the hero was that much outgoing and just a sweetheart for a male character in a harlequin manga or novel. I'm gonna have to get the novel in itself to read that one. It really was a sweet read.

This book was a fantastic read,the story and characters were so real and the story pulled at your heart strings. I read it in a day because I honestly couldn't put it down. The only downside ,there was no epilogue

This was a good read and I did enjoy the book. The only part I didn't like was the female lead being so stubborn about accepting that someone could love her for herself. Talk about "mule-headed." Geez, she took it to another level! But it did end happy families and I do love a happy end.....
