I have to revise my review. Beware Spoilers below all through the review

Okay SPOILERS.

To the person who said there was no cheating I am only a quarter of the way through and I have seen the H have a lot of sex with other women AFTER he met the h and lusted after her. I do not like the heros to have sex after they meet the H and then the king whose wife loves him and he supposedly loves is having sex with lots of other women and the H is thinking if I don't have sex with the h soon i might need to find a wench And this is AFTER he is married by the way. I am afraid to continue I know this is my trigger but if it isn't yours. Go ahead read it. But I find it gross. I don't care if he is turning off the light so he thinks it's the h I don't want to know. Just gross I hate hearing about H's with other women and even though it technically wasn't cheAting for him as he wasn't married to her yet I wanted him to stay faithful but he king and the H whoring themselves through the crusade is enough to make me sick. But the king loves his wife yet he has sex with other women. Yeah right. NOT. Just DNF I don't think I can continue. Sorry I bought this. Real sorry. Just be warned.

Afterthought

Okay I finished the book and after halfway I needed to change the review. Instead of 1star I changed it to three the H was an honorable man once he was married and in the end I liked the love story. I won't read it again but it was good. Angst galore and sadness but great ending.

Really enjoyed it will be reading this author again

I really enjoyed this book. I am no way a historian so I didn't know if she was accurate in her descriptions of Wales and England history. I just enjoyed the characters and the love story. It kept my attention from start to finish. I think this was a wonderful first romance novel for this author.

I absolutely loved this book it was well written .The main characters were great together this a book that will hold you from beginning to end I got emotional at the end this is a man any women would want he truly is a knight in shining armor. Can't wait until the next book.

A must read if going through a divorce

As a divorce attorney myself, I wholeheartedly agree with the advice in this book and would recommend it for anyone thinking about divorcing. It explains every step of the process and gives tons of practical advice on everything from how to ensure your children come out unscathed to what to wear in court to how to start your new life. Hard hitting, but if you can follow her advice, you will pay your attorney far less, come to resolution faster and maintain your dignity throughout the process.

Technical introduction to digital low light photography

A very technical introduction to DSLR low light photography, but don't let that discourage you. This book is less about the effects and more about the nuts and bolts of how your sensor behaves in poorly lit situations: where does the ISO noise come from, how do you recover those details in shadows, what is the premise behind HDR, etc.

The author also spends a lot of time on the post-processing steps of your digital photos - from importing photos to evaluating noise reduction plugins to Photoshop. Having skipped the film photography step and gone directly to digital, this book made me appreciate all the tools and possibilities that are now available to every amateur.

Highly recommended, especially if you really want to understand how your camera works from the inside.

Very disappointing

I own several of Freeman's books. I found both "Mastering Black & White Digital Photography" and (especially) "The Photographer's Eye" to be quite useful, well written, and thoughtfully laid out.

I can't say the same for "The Complete Guide to Night and Lowlight Photography". The title is misleading to say the least; the book is almost entirely devoid of guidance on image capture, focusing instead on post-capture techniques in Photoshop.

As useful as Photoshop is, I would much rather get an excellent image and tweak it post-capture than have to recover a mediocre capture. This book will provide no help with the former.

Yet another disappointing Night Photography book

I really, truly wanted to love this book. I wanted to recommend it to my students, and I wanted it to finally be a useful Night Photography textbook. Unfortunately, it falls tremendously short of its potential on so many levels. As someone who has photographed at night for over 20 years, and taught Night Photography classes and workshops for 10 years, I feel qualified to make this judgment. The first and most obvious shortcoming is in the lack of inspiring, or even good Night Photographs. Most of the examples included are not only NOT night or low light images, but they are simply illustrations for the page, and not particularly good or interesting photographs. What a way to lose your audience in the first chapter.

To be fair, there is plenty of useful technical information, but it is generally not very well organized. (The first thing covered in the text is purple fringing and chromatic aberration!) Unfortunately, much of the information presented, while well researched and generally correct, is not really specific to the topic of the book.

Probably the greatest flaw of this book is that it does not embrace Night Photography for what it is. The author seems to have no grasp whatsoever of what it is that makes Night Photography special. In a nutshell, Night Photography is about the accumulation of time and light in an image- be it film or digital, and the way that the camera can record time in ways that the eye cannot see at night. Rather than show readers how to take advantage of the magic possible with long exposures and dramatic mixed lighting sources found at night, Freeman instructs the reader how to overcome these "challenges". Night photography is unpredictable and to a certain extent uncontrollable, and rather than embrace these things that make it unique, Freeman does everything he can to help his reader eliminate any and all risks. Night photography that "stays inside the lines" is boring. It is only by breaking the rules that Night Photographers create really exciting images, and there isn't more than a couple in this entire book. Imagine a 225 page book on Night Photography that devotes exactly THREE PARAGRAPHS to photographing by moonlight, and has zero examples of photographs taken by moonlight! There is also no chapter on light painting, which is another large omission.

There are at least a dozen books on the market supposedly about Night and low light photography, and they pretty much all focus on the "Low Light" part of the equation-Christmas lights, neon signs, fireworks, theatre or sporting events at night. This is not Night Photography, but simply how to extend daytime shooting methods into low light situations. Michael Freeman's disappointing book is just another one added to the pile. To date, Andrew Sanderson's "Night Photography" is the best text published on the subject, but it is almost entirely a black and white film book, and therefore of limited use in today's digital world. I'm sure that many people will find something useful in Freeman's book, and some will disagree with my assessment. In the end, it simply does not inspire the reader to go out and photograph at night, either with the text or especially the illustrations. It is certainly not for the novice.

The resource section in the back of the book lists only Freeman's other books, and none of the other published materials on Night and Low Light photography. His list of websites does not include links to any Night Photography sites or resources, most particularly [...] which is the undisputed champion of Night Photography online resources. He also offers no resources for classes or workshops on the subject, of which there are several, both in the US and abroad. There is a strong sense of community and sharing amongst Night Photographers, supported by both online and real world resources like The Nocturnes, local meet ups, and Flickr. Freeman is clearly not in touch with this community, which to me explains to a large degree why this book fails to hit the mark. As I said earlier in the review, there is a lot of useful technical information in this book, but it has no heart or soul.

Jill Waterman's new book, "Night and Low Light Photography, Professional Techniques from Experts for Artistic and Commercial Success" is much better than this, or any other book released on the topic to date. Surprisingly Good ....

This book was recommended to me by a Facebook page of an author I follow. I read the story synopsis and didn't know if I would like it due to the urban element to it described by some of the reviews. I am not into the"hard core" urban stories but I like read to stories with alpha males and the feisty women they get with. Truly had a very hard and tragic childhood and the relationship with her twin sister was complicated. I am glad their stories were different and befitting of them both. I liked how she would get in Bannon's sh*t when she was pissed with him about things he did and I loved how they loved each other through all their baggage and issues. She had a good heart and was about taking care of her family, even her trifling ass sister.

Bannon, my man, I loved him because he was handsome, rich, well-endowed and as flawed as Truly. He went looking for one thing and got something entirely different. Isn't that how life goes most times. I loved his interactions with Truly, the guys on the block and the relationship with the children. I also loved how he handled his business when he felt his things were violated; as a person who loves gangster movies - he could get gangsta and did numerous times. I liked the integration of the other characters in their story that could possibly lead to future stories about them. Like Athena and Jamie, what happened or is happening with them or other family member. I agree that the story could've been shorter and there were some editing issues but, for me, it didn't make it less enjoyable. If her future books will be this gritty and real with a true love story like this one, I will be a forever fan. This was a very good start for her first widely, published book. I want more just like it.......

A BADD couple..oh yeah

My goodness..this is the BEST book I have read in 2016. TrulyHappy and Bannon Antonov are two of the baddest people I have ever read. Their meeting was as unconventional as one could dream of. Tru comes form the wrong side of the tracks and struggles everyday just to survive. She was dealt a hand that would have caused the average person to just throw in the towel. She is a natural fighter. The odds are heavily stacked against her, her children, her sister and her neighbors.

Bannon Antonov was born with a golden spoon in his mouth. His inheritance once he reaches the ripe old age of 30 is 400 Billion dollars +. He is an a born leader in his family. He is a mover and a shaker. He seems to have the midas touch, but his alter ego is a killer as vicious as he is successful.

What could these two have in common? They both think the other is drop dead gorgeous and they love good music, literature, dancing and sex with the other. Wow, what was supposed to be a one time thing leads to two children for Tru and Bannon.

If you like raw adventure, sensual love and a page turning read.. this is the book for you. At times the editing needed to be done, however, I was drawn in real deep and was on a mission to complete this story.

This is my first read of JanJan Untamed, but if she puts out another one...I am dead on it...
This books even has some helpful hints on how to keep your man from straying outside of a relationship...Tru is an expert on quite a few things in this book..Again a great read...Well done, well done..

Tru and Bannon are everything...dysfunctional but everything

This was like an old school Sidney Sheldon put in the ghetto and then injected with molly. LOVED it. This had me up reading until 5 am. Yeah, the second half could have used some tighter editing (I could feel that the author was pushing to get it all outoutoutoutOUT) but the story had me on the edge of my seat. The writer has a sharp voice, eye for detail, and ear for voices living in the 'hood that, with more polish, could really be great to follow. (Get this woman an editor!)
This is NOT a sweet romance. There are grown ass issues, grown ass decisions, grown ass situations, and that 'view from the bottom' is real, man. It made me flinch thinking about the neighborhood I grew up in and the women I used to know.
But Tru and Bannon are TIGHT. I have never read a square romance couple be down for a MMF hook up just for the heroine's birthday. That ish was amazing. I almost elbowed my sweet guy in his sleep to yell at him, 'Why can't you love me like Bannon loves Tru??' But I didn't. Because I'm not an abused ex-prostitute/addict/exotic dancer with 4 kids and he's not a billionaire/more than slightly psychopathic/married man with attachment and impulse control issues.

Disappointing

A disproportionately voluminous number of words between two protagonists in an implausible relationship to tell a simple story with a simple message. Regrettably, it's not profound or illuminating in the way the author wrote, exquisitely, The Brothers Karamazov, The Idiot, Crime & Punishment, etc.
